USF Bulls in the NFL

Former Bulls safety Nate Allen helped the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense hold off the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1 of the NFL season. The 37th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft posted three tackles and a sack in the Eagles’ 34-17 comeback win last Sunday in Philadelphia. Allen, who starts at strong safety, has registered at least 49 tackles in each of first four NFL seasons with the Eagles with six total interceptions and 25 pass breakups.

Allen, a native of Cape Coral, Florida, ranks fourth in USF history with nine career interceptions. He is tied for 24th with 48 games played in his collegiate career from 2006-09. Allen started his final 39 games as a Bull and totaled 224 career tackles on the way to earning first-team All-Big East honors from ESPN.com and Phil Steele as a senior.
