In the News – 2014 USF Football Season Takes Shape

University of South Florida’s 2014 football schedule began to take shape Wednesday when the American Athletic Conference announced home and away conference opponents for all 11 conference teams for the 2014 season. Dates, kickoff times and television arrangements will be announced at a later date.

USF-BullsIn addition to previously announced USF non-conference match-ups with Western Carolina (Aug. 30), Maryland (Sept. 6) and North Carolina State (Sept. 13) in Raymond James Stadium and a road contest at Wisconsin (Sept. 27), the Bulls will once again play four conference home games and four conference road games in 2014. The Bulls’ schedule will feature six teams that reached a bowl game last season, including Maryland and Wisconsin from the Big Ten, with four of those teams visiting Raymond James Stadium.

USF’s conference home schedule will see East Carolina, Houston, and UCF, which all played in bowl games last season, as well as UConn coming to Raymond James Stadium.

The Bulls will make the program’s first-ever road trips to Tulsa and SMU as well as play at Cincinnati, a bowl participant last year, and Memphis in conference action. LTMKTWNSURMZMHO_20121001153147USF will not play Temple, for the second straight season, or Tulane in the eight-game 2014 conference schedule.  USF’s game at Tulsa will mark the first-ever meeting between the programs. The Bulls will be facing East Carolina for the fifth time but first since 2006. The Bulls faced all of the other six opponents on their 2014 conference schedule last year in the first season of The American.
