It’s Time to Pay Up

For those who attended the 30^th(ish) Anniversary celebration of the Delta Zeta Chapter of Chi Phi, you may recall that you made a pledge and signed up as a regular donor for the re-established Orders Account. All monies pledged and collected into the Orders Account will go towards the ultimate purchase and maintenance of a house for the Delta Zeta Chapter – a house for the Active Brothers to live in and a house that the Alumni will be able to utilize for meetings, for visits, etc.

Well, the time has come to start those payments. Some, if not all, of you who signed up and made pledges have already received invoices for your first monthly payments. If you haven’t received one yet, rest assured – you will receive on soon. The Board determined that this would be the most expedient and convenient way to remind the Alumni of their pledge and to make it easy for each Alumni to select their own means of payment (whether by check, by debit, or by credit) and will provide the DZAA an easier means of tracking all payments made and ensuring proper credit for the Alumni who donate.

Each and every payment made will become a part of Delta Zeta history, as you’ll be ensuring that future generations of DZ Brothers will have a stable Fraternity environment and providing a never-ending legacy to Delta Zeta. So be a part of history and make your payment as soon as you receive your invoice. The sooner the goal is reached, the sooner Delta Zeta will have its House!

Time to Get the House in Order

Once upon a time, Delta Zeta started up the Order’s Account. This was an account set up to allow Brothers of the Delta Zeta Chapter to donate money, over extended periods of time, to the Housing Fund in order to raise money for the ultimate goal of purchasing a House for the Chapter. While it definitely started off with good intentions, somewhere along the way, it fell to the wayside and lingered in limbo…

Until now!

One of the stated goals of the current DZAA Exec Board has been to “get our house in order,” so to speak, and one of the ways this is being done is with the re-establishment of the Order’s Account. As a means to raise money for the Housing Fund, the Order’s Account offers four different levels of giving, with options of a one-time lump sum payment or automatic monthly deductions from a debit or credit card.

Over the 30^th Anniversary Weekend, there was a lot of promotion for the revitalization of the Order’s Account, and a number of Alumni hopped on board!

With a total of 17 Order’s Accounts set up, in just one weekend, the DZAA raised nearly $55,000 (to be paid over a 10-year period) for the Housing Fund. When added to the nearly $20,000 currently held in savings for the Housing Fund, this places the DZAA at nearly 75% of our stated goal of $100,000 in ten years! The Alumni have certainly answered the call, and the DZAA hopes that in the months and years to call, others will heed the call and sign up for an Order’s Account and help be a part of funding the purchase of a House for the Delta Zeta Chapter.
