Social News – Final Friday is Coming!

Okay, so it’s not quite Third Thursday – but with the Fall Alumni Meeting coming up this Friday, October’s Third Thursday was changed to a Final Friday!  554583_10150892980638696_365520751_nRight after the meeting (which begins at 7:00 p.m. in Room 2707 of the Marshall Center on Friday, October 25th, for those who may have missed the announcements!), the Alumni will be heading over to Mr. Dunderbak’s for the October Alumni Happy Hour!  Mr. Dunderbak’s is located at 14929 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, Tampa, Florida.  Fellow Alumni who have attended Third Thursdays in the past can attest to all the good times and great fellowship had by all who attend!  So don’t miss out, come join us for the meeting and the Happy Hour afterwards.

And lest anyone forget, the very next day (Saturday, October 26th), the DZAA will be holding a Tailgate at Raymond James Stadium in preparation for the 59630_10101754498462861_1335077271_ngame against the 8th ranked Louisville Cardinals. More details about the exact time and location will follow.  The current plan, however, is to have a spread in the “Mall Parking Lot”. We know this is not where most season ticket holders park, but it will afford us the most space. The lot entrance is on MLK BLVD just East of Himes, right behind the new Panera Bread on MLK. The cost for parking is $15. If you have a parking pass in another lot, feel free to wander over and join us. We will have an assortment of breakfast foods, but of course, feel free to bring something! You can FB message Brother Kyllan Purdon or Brother David Ebnder the day of to find out exactly where everyone will be!

Chapter News – Homecoming Activities

The Chapter is definitely staying active these days!  They are practicing hard for the upcoming “Putting on the Hits,” where the men will be dancing and lip synching for Sigma Delta Tau’s philanthropy to benefit Prevent Child Abuse America.  If that weren’t enough, the Chapter is also working hard on Chi Omega’s “Chi O Rodeo.”  This is another Greek philanthropy that involves line dancing, bull riding, boot decoration, and the whole kit and caboodle, all to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Homecoming also starts this week, and so it’s been busy days and nights for the Brothers.  They have completed the banner competition and window painting (for which the men put in nearly 8 hours to complete), and several of the Active Brothers attended the “Anchor Splash” philanthropy hosted by Delta Gamma.  And today, the men collected can goods to be donated at a later time – for now, though, as  part of the homecoming activities, they had to create something unique with them, and that they did!

Snaps to all of the Active Brothers for the hard work they are putting in, not only for Chi Phi, but for all the organizations that the fraternities and sororities are supporting!
